This is why we sometimes can’t have nice things.
After a painstaking restoration to beautify the historical bridge that saw its destruction during World War II and reconstruction to historical glory, there comes this man who tries to spoil it by stealing electrical wire conduits powering the newly-installed lighting on the bridge.
Arrested on the act by Lawton Police Community Precinct is Olimfo Velasquez, an unemployed man of undetermined legal age.
Velasquez was caught on the act by Police Corporals Nolimar Valdez at Jhon Zen San Gabriel, who took the suspect for medical examination before formal charges and detainment at Manila Police District Station 5. He will be charged with Theft of Government Property, with the pilfered wire as evidence.
Reactions from the tweet of the Manila Public Information Office showed little to no sympathy for the thief.

Spratlys Charade condemns such act as no different to Vandalism, a dastardly act comparable to graffiti being passed off as protest art.
