Parañaque City joins several cities of Metro Manila in banning single use plastic bags in shops.

This means the only means of carrying goods will be paper bags or eco bags, made of structurally-comparative but biodegradable material.

The ban, notably, extends to drinking straws, stirrers, plastic utensils and styrofoam-based bowls and plates, and similar derivatives.

The ban will be enforced by June of 2020.

Thus far, the only places where plastic bags are still used are in the cities of Manila, Valenzuela, Caloocan, with Quezon City moving to total ban after enforcing controlled usage for years.
