In a similar action of Megaman series’ greatest driving force Keiji Inafune, Hideo Kojima, creator of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid series, has permanently parted ways with Konami Entertainment as of December 15, 2015.

He will form a new company, reviving his shuttered Kojima Productions outfit, where he will continue developing video games, with plans to release on platforms such as Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE)’s PlayStation.

According to various sources familiar with Kojima’s plight, he was mistreated, nearly left out of the series he created and apparently Konami pretending he was on vacation, and denying him the right to receive a game award.

Kojima will start fresh on a new IP, leaving his firstborn series in Konami behind.

He’s apparently keen on exploring more than just game development.
