To keep residents and tourists connected to the Internet while enjoying the park’s amenities, the city government of Baguio now has free Wi-Fi connection inside Burnham Park’s Rose Garden.

The LGU launched it Friday, November 20, 2015.

Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan was at the inauguration of the free wireless network project, which aims to improve the visitor’s overall experience of Baguio.

Eight Wi-Fi hotspots were strategically placed throughout the park. The access points allow park users to connect to the Internet at a fast speed with its 5G Wi-Fi cabapility. Up to 2,400 simultaneous park users can enjoy this free service.

Residents and tourists should first register before they can access the free Internet connection labeled “burnhamfreewifi.”

The launching of the free wireless internet service marked the first phase of free Wi-Fi spots planned around Baguio City.

Marcos lauded the local government for providing free internet access for the residents and tourists in Burnham Park.

Similar projects across the country are planned or are currently being implemented, the most notable being in the whole area of Rizal Park in Manila.
