After cussing at Pope Francis and his visit for the traffic, albeit unintentionally, the Punisher decided that if he is to set an example, he should lead by subjecting himself to the same harsh brand of punishment when he clearly does something wrong.

And that’s what he did by paying a visit to Archbishop Romulo Valles and Bishop George Rimando, together with Monsignor Paul Cuison and his Executive Assistant Bong Go.

According to his very own Facebook page

I was admonished and lectured on Christian Values and in return, I told them that I would lessen my use of cuss words. I am even regulating myself and will donate P1,000 to Caritas Davao everytime I would swear. I am also planning to visit the Vatican soon. It was a good meeting and I would like to thank my friends in the Church for their time.

Even as damage control, he clearly mentioned understanding the ire of the people as a result of his misplaced bravado and swagger in his party proclamation event.

His cussing towards the Pontiff made Mar Roxas’ own cussing years ago look like an amateur– moreso by having negligible track record and plenty of complaints of incompetence in every office that he held.

Now if Duterte can pull his Communist friends in line, stop their anarchic way of living and defend the islands from Chinese invasion in the same manner as incumbent Benigno Aquino III has done, and continue beefing up the military forces of the country, he will be nigh invincible in the 2016 elections. He’s already at odds with a communist front, Gabriela, for his open admission to flirting with women.

The people will have some difficulty, now eased by his reconciliation with the Church, for insulting the Pontiff. But they can sure forgive him readily for offing unrepentant people that are considered a scourge to society, a strategy he is not shy to employ if it means peace and order.

We don’t think that’s double standard, honestly.
