December saw the end of three unidentified automotive thieves, in reports reaching Manila, after a brief firefight with responding police officers Sunday in Barangay Palusapis Muñoz City, Nueva Ecija.

Central Luzon police director Chief Superintendent Rudy Lacadin told journalists Monday that law enforcers have so far identified one of the fatalities as Lazaro Reyes III, 20, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Malapit, San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.

“The shootout occurred at around 4:30 in the morning in Barangay Palusapis,” Lacadin said.

According to Supt. Ponziano Safra, Muñoz chief of police, the police received a flash report of an “agaw motorsiklo incident” (motorcycle heist) involving suspects armed with short fire arms and wearing balaclava to conceal their faces.

Police officers responded, but were peppered with bullets, prompting them to exchange fire that resulted in the death of the three car thieves.

Recovered from the crimes scene were one caliber .45 handgun, one hand grenade, one 9mm pistol, and one caliber .38 revolver, and the stolen motorcycle used by the suspects.

The owner of the stolen motorcycle positively identified the three suspects.

“When flagged by the pursuing policemen, the suspects drew their guns and started shooting, prompting the lawmen to return fire.

Personal belongings of the suspects and sachets of shabu were also found.

What can we say? GOOD RIDDANCE.
