Coming from the heels of creating JKT48 and SNH48, the sister groups located in Indonesia and China, Yasushi Akimoto, group founder of the infamous AKB48, has plans to create a sister group in the Philippines.

As reported by SGCafe and Yahoo! Japan, Akimoto already started the overseas expansion with the establishment of overseas sister idol groups.

He was quoted to have mentioned that the Philippines has a sizable J-pop fans, increasing his interest further.

MNL48 anyone?

They did like the Sexbomb Dancers when they visited in Japan, so making another female group in Manila shouldn’t have issues.

At least there, there’s no otakus to appease in regards to “purity” or “celibacy”. We hope.
